PRESIDENT

  • The President looks after the MCR, its facilities and the interests of its members. She is the head of the MCR and chair the MCR committee. To represent the MCR she attends biweekly College Council meetings, and sits on the Joint Liaison Committee, the RCSA (as a member of the executive), the Development Committee, and the Archives Committee. She liaises with the other committee members to ensure that the MCR offers the best services to its members that it can, and keep updated with other MCR's across the university.

VICE PRESIDENT

  • The Vice-President deputises for the President and sits on the Joint Liaison Committee and Education Committee. She also organises the Room Ballot and looks after accommodation matters for members.

    The Vice-President (External) represents the MCR at the Graduate Union (GU) and at the Cambridge University Students' Union (CUSU). She holds the MCR vote on these two councils, so feel free to contact her if you have any views on upcoming motions.

TREASURER

  • The Treasurer looks after our finances throughout the year and sets the MCR budget (with the help of the committee) for the coming year at the end of their term. Throughout the year, the treasurer organises people's reimbursements and keeps an eye on committee spending.

ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

  • The Academic Affairs Officer is responsible for supporting and improving the academic experience within the graduate community. He sits on the Library Committee and organises the MCR-SCR Research Days.

GREEN OFFICER

  • The Green Officer looks after any green issues, encourages members to recycle more, tops up green supplies in the MCR and is the person to contact if you are interested in having a composting bin in your hostel kitchen. They attend the college's gardens committee.

DIVERSITY & INCLUSION

  • The Diversity and Inclusion officer looks after the welfare of our members identifying as Black, Asian or of another Minority ethnic. They ensure that their values are represented in the committee and that none feels excluded based on their background. They are encouraged to host events especially for BAME members at, for example, certain holidays and will communicate university-wide opportunities or campaigns to MCR members.

LGBTQ+ WELFARE

  • The LGBTQ+ welfare officer is here to represent anyone who self-identifies as LGBTQ+ to ensure their health, safety, and welfare, and to foster Robinson's links with the LGBTQ+ community across the university (e.g. through the CUSU LGBTQ+ campaign which organises club nights [Kaleidoscope at Kuda] or Rainbow Robinson). They will also be happy to provide welfare support (or signpost to appropriate resources) more generally to MCR members who don't identify as LGBTQ+, as a welfare officer.

  • The External Ent Officer is in charge of organising different events with the rest of the colleges, focusing mostly on formal swaps.

ENTERTAINMENTS (ENTS) TEAM

  • The Welfare Officer looks after the day-to-day welfare of MCR members. They also provide a point of contact to discuss welfare issues (having been fully trained by CUSU), and are in charge of welfare supplies in the MCR. They are here to make sure that no one feels excluded and that everyone’s needs are being met.
